Tomas A. Dulfer is a self-employed filmmaker, photographer and publicist on film related affairs. He has a lifelong passion for film and the moving image.

In 2010 he received his degree of Bachelor of Arts (BA). His thesis was about the role of gender in Bound (1996). In 2012 he received his degree of Master of Arts (MA) on the role of intertextuality and author theory in the body of work of Martin Scorsese. Both titles were obtained at the University of Amsterdam. In 2017 he started as a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam. The core of his research focuses on the depiction of Amsterdam as filming location in international films.

Since 2013 started writing on film in relation to Amsterdam for the website Amsterdam Centraal (see: http://www.amsterdamcentraal.nl/tomas-a-dulfer).

He has also worked on various international commercials and film and television productions in various positions as a freelancer (VIP-driver, production assistant, assistant locations, first assistant director and actor). These projects include feature films like: The Fault in Our Stars (2014), Amici Come Noi (2014), Torno indietro e cambio vita (2015), The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018). Short films: Alles Mag (2014), The Maid (2016). Television series: Malaika (2013), The Amazing Race (2015), Who Do You Think You Are Season 5 Episode 2 (2015) and Blue Veins (2016). And commercials for various brands: Heineken, Samsung, IBM, HP, Dr. Oetker, VNO/NCW.

As a freelancer he is hired for filmmaking, photography or writing and produces, directs, films and edits his own productions which include: a short film visually documenting the construction of gallery EENWERK designed by Barend Koolhaas and portrait of shipbuilder Huib Koel (at the NDSM ship wharf) (see link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krTRpSaJPqw).
